website for a breeder of
British Shorthair and British Longhair cats
Anaïs, the client
Anaïs Tournade has always been passionate about animals and breeding.
She bred sport horses and ponies for a long time but, in 2023, she entered the world of British Shorthair and Longhair cats. Her own convinced her they are the perfect companion pets. They are calm, cuddly and playful and they like taking part in family life.
Anaïs is also a friend of mine. This is why she asked for my help with Internet communications to promote Best British Cat 49, a.k.a. BBC49, her cattery. Once her Facebook page and Instagram account were created, we started thinking about the website she would need.
The project
A website gives structure to visual and textual information and provides order, personalisation and an aesthetic which lack on social networks. Anaïs needed a work tool to:
- introduce herself, stand out and showcase her professionalism in breeding with a supporting and fitting design;
- create an initial personal connexion with future clients and make getting in touch easy;
- display professional kitten photographs to highlight how beautiful, cute and full of personality the kittens are.
All in all, an informative and attractive, easy to use and adjustable website so that it remains up to date and efficient over time.
The creation
Once we had defined the frame and substance of the project, I began the creative process:
- a logo matching the main physical trait of British cats: their roundness;
- red, blue and white colours in reference to the origins of the breed;
- professional photos to properly highlight the kittens;
- asymmetrical curve lines to bring depth, rhythm and dynamism to the layout;
- cat silhouettes for a common thread throughout the website.
These are the main components used to design a visual identity for BBC49. The content was written and incorporated to the layout with care to make it informative, clear and relevant. Ways to contact Anaïs are visible throughout the whole website to give visitors the best chances to become clients.
Such were the solutions I offered Anaïs in order to meet her expectations in highlighting the qualities of the cats she loves and breeds with passion and professionalism.
To this day, we keep working together so that bestbritishcats.fr continues to fit the needs and the growth of her operation. This was the first website project I completed. Thank you to Anaïs for trusting me and giving me the push to step into web design.
